The Very First Step

How connecting with a lender will set you on the path to homeownership

While real estate agents like to take credit for much of the transaction that happens when someone is in the market to buy a home, the truth is that a whole team is needed to make it come to fruition. It’s a great idea to say “I want to buy a home”. I am very much about the laws of attraction and manifesting your destiny, but the fact is that unless you take the necessary steps to get there, it’s not going to happen.

If you are still renting (apartment or home) and want to become a homeowner, the very first thing I will tell you if we were speaking in person or over the phone, is to call a lender. I will also tell you at this point that not all lenders are created equal. Remind me to tell you a funny story about a very young inexperienced lender I worked with early on in my own infancy of real estate. I digress... connecting with a knowledgeable lender is going to be the first thing you need to do. If you have credit issues (we have all been there), a lender partner is going to be able to analyze your DTI, and give you a playbook to follow so that you can clear any negative credit issues that may be affecting your credit score and preventing you from qualifying. Even if you can’t buy today, they’ll give you a road map for the next 3, 6, 9, or 12 months! But you have to take that first step. I know it’s scary, sometimes we are in denial, but my team and I work best in transparency (we don’t like surprises) and there’s not much we haven’t already dealt with.

If you have questions about what the home buying process looks like or just want to feel things out, please give me a call or send me a message! I love to help people and more than anything, I’d like to make your dream of home ownership a reality.
